Do you know someone who is facing or being made redundant?

I just wanted to share with you that I was made redundant two years ago from an organisation that I had worked with for 25 years. I have experienced the emotional ups and downs and lived to tell the tale. In fact I have turned that negativity into a truly positive situation. I opened my eyes to new possibilities and became aware of the wealth of opportunities around us. The trick is know what you want and then it's amazing what appears.

I have a FREE article my TOP 10 tips for survivng redundancy. If you would like a copy or know of someone who does then contact me at info@noelyne.com to request your FREE article.

Here's to new opportunities

Why I've not been blogging!

Another milestone achieved! For the last six weeks I have been busy promoting our new Health Wealth and Charisma seminars, which has been a big deal for me.

I successfully delivered a session on Health and Well-being to a group of ladies attending our Health, Wealth and Charisma event in Peterborough last Saturday. And I am really proud of myself!

What’s so fantastic about that? Well, the workshops that I am normally involved in are for Organisations or Companies where I am asked to deliver training and development to a group of Managers to aid their learning and ultimately to improve performance and profits/ achievement of targets. The training can be material provided by the organisation or content that I have designed following a training needs analysis of the situation/problem.

The difference last Saturday is that I was sharing my personal approach to creating Health and Well-being. I chose some key points that I have learned and experienced that have worked for me, to share with the group. I had no idea as to whether this is what they were expecting and or whether they wanted this as I had not met these people before. I was opening myself up to complete strangers who could have chosen to ridicule me. As it happens the feedback was tremendous with each participant having got something from the session.

On reflection I know that I can make it even better, which of course is what I will do when we deliver the next event in February 2009.

Bad news!

It's a well known fact that people are more likely to open e-mails or messages that have bad news in the subject line! I'm pleased it worked :-) and it's a please to connect with you.

I've been busy learning about social networking and search engine optimisation and article writing and all sorts since coming back from holidays so much so that I've neglected my blog. :-( So this is a quick update on what's happening in the Noelyne Jones Coaching world.

I had an exhilarating meeting with my friend and business partner Yvonne Emery last Friday.

We’ve agreed the theme for our next workshop which is in Peterborough on Saturday 29th November, 2008. It’s a Health, Wealth and Charisma event exclusively for women. I’ll be releasing more details later this week so watch this space!

I have an ongoing ‘To Do’ list which needs my attention too. Next task to complete is for the new website due to be launched soon.

As ever is you want more information and to speak to me please contact me via my website at www.noelyne.com

Summer Holidays

I love them. In fact I love holidays and travelling and just spending time away exploring. This year my family joined me in Devon for three weeks so that I could honour the training contract I agreed to in December 2007.

For the first time ever I have found the holiday a challenge. In that I have not really got to that point of total relaxation and feeling of being totally away from it all. I have been delivering training two days a week, which I also love to do however, it has totally disrupted the holiday for my partner and his boys. This has increased the stress levels. Added to the challenge of keeping two very energetic boys entertained and happy, has meant sleepless nights, despite copious amounts of Rose wine and the odd glass of cider. Well it is Summer after all. And of course, I have not been able to sit out on the veranda of an evening to watch the sunset. I'm in Devon remember, heavy rain and gales!

What have I learned?

I need to keep the amount of time devoted to working whilst on holiday to a minimum i.e. 20 mins daily to check e-mails. I need easy access to the internet to do this. I need slightly more sunshine than 5 hours in a three week period! Next year will be a holiday in the sun in a 5 star hotel with full access to the internet and all the other trimmings. Thank you!

Did some spectacular walks on Dartmoor though and will definitely come back. Have fallen in love!

Camping

Hello,

So here I am in Devon on my holiday and it's raining. Surprise surprise! Why did we pick Devon? Apart from the beautiful countryside, friendly people and terrific food, I am delivering training here until the end of August a couple of days a week. My family joined me at the beginning of the week and as the boys love camping we decided to spend the first week in a tent.

All going swimmingly well for the first two days, then the 11 year old gets an upset tummy and is sick all night. Big bonus is that I saw 5 shooting stars in the space of 10 mins while I was taking a breather from watching over the boy, at 3 am.

Later that morning having just fallen asleep we are woken by the tent being battered by gale force winds and torrential rain. Things really going swimmingly well now! Holding onto our hats we all pile into the car and head to the shower block. Hot shower and dry clothes and all is well with the world. What next? Coffee and croissants in Tesco cafe sounds like a good idea. The forecast is for at least 2 more days of rain.

After numerous phone calls and a 45 minute drive we are in the middle of Dartmoor and installing ourselves in a bunkhouse. There's a pub attached so all is well with the world . Our tent is pushed to the back of our minds as it sits out the storm on it's own. Will it still be there in the morning?

Back at work today and the sun is shining and there are clear blue skies.

Hey ho!

Knowing what you want!

How clear are you an what you want to be, do and have?

My experience shows me that when I have clarity about this then I am far more likely to achieve it as I stay focused, become aware of opportunities (that were probably there all the time) and then make better decisions and so achieve better results.

I also believe that we create and influence our future by the thoughts that we choose today. It's our thoughts that create our reality. We can choose how we feel, what we think, how we behave. In fact it's about the only thing we can control in life. We have no control over other people. We can only influence others by what we do and say.

So be clear about the sort of life that you want, focus on being the best at what you currently do, avoid negative thoughts and complaints about what is not right yet as when you focus on what you don't want then you create more. When you are at leisure allow your thoughts to focus on the life that you would like. That way you are far more likely to achieve it.

Enjoy your life,

You don't have to leave the house to have an adventure!

Just wanted to share with you how much fun I am having right here in my study. Have discovered the power of social networking and a whole host of amazing people sharing their knowledge and skills about using the internet.

I've dabbled with computers for many years, even got into a little binary programming in the early days with my first basic computer, whose name escapes me right now. It seemed easier to keep up back then. Now it's just phenomenal what is available. I've been blogging on a number of sites and absolutely love to search for information. However, I was beginning to spend too much time moving from site to site, remembering passwords etc etc. Since learning about internet marketing from people on Face book and Web Mums I am really finding out how to manage my time much more effectively. Have just downloaded a new browser called FLOCK. My stepson will have fun with that name I am sure! Anyway check it out, it's easy to use and will save time.

Off to learn some more now.

Have a spectacular day,

How are you?

I've been working with emotions recently both within my training role as a Management development trainer and with private clients. I'm encouraging people to get in touch with their feelings as an excellent resource for identifying what decision you need to take now. So instead of allowing your negativity to get you down use it as a positive resource and get curious about the reason for feeling that way

How are you feeling right now?

If you are tense and struggling with what you are doing then I give you permission to stop now. Take a deep breath, stand up and go and do something different for a while. Take a walk in the fresh air, make a cup of tea, go for a swim, phone a friend whatever you need to do to take your mind off the activity that was causing you to choose to feel tense. That’s right you have a choice!

If you are struggling with whatever it is that you are doing then the chances are that you are focusing on something that you don’t want to do or perhaps are not ready to take action on yet. Far better to go and do something else and then refocus on the original activity when you feel better prepared. It may be that you decide not to follow that path after all.

Of course if it’s frustration that you are feeling then maybe you are on the verge of a breakthrough it’s just you haven’t quite found or mastered the next step yet.

Whatever it is that you are doing now make sure you are relaxed and enjoying it. Your life will be much happier as a result, you will look good (a smile on your face is so much more attractive that a frown) and feel great too.

Expect excitement and adventure every day,

Noelyne

What do you do to feel happy?

From a very young age I have had my head in a book. I love to read and have a thirst for knowledge. Over the past 12 years I have read numerous self-development books. You can imagine my delight when looking through a pile of my partners books I found The Celestine Prophecy, Anthony Robbins - Awaken the Giant Within and Dr Wayne Dyer’s - Your Erroneous zones. The first two had been on my list for a while and they both more than lived up to expectation. I had not heard of Dr. Dyer before however, since connecting with more and more people on FB I keep noticing his name so this morning at breakfast I did a very quick prĂ©cis and then read the final chapter. Dr Dyer includes the following quote from the Reader’s Digest

Nothing on earth renders happiness less approachable than trying to find it. Historian Will Durant described how he looked for happiness in knowledge, and found disillusionment. He then sought happiness in travel and found weariness; in wealth and found discord and worry. He looked for happiness in his writing and was only fatigued. One day he saw a woman waiting in a tiny car with a sleeping child in her arms. A man descended from a train and came over and gently kissed the woman and then the baby, very softly so as not to awaken him. The family drove off and left Durant with a stunning realization of the real nature of happiness. He relaxed and discovered that ‘every normal function of life holds some delight’.

I like to say something positive to the boys as they set off for school so this morning it was ‘Enjoy each moment of today’. They are not quite on the same wavelength as me yet however, they are starting to realise that they have a choice.

Enjoy each moment!
